음과양 한동리

한동리에 위차한 폐가는 100여년 전 지어진 가옥으로 제주의 문화, 환경, 날씨를 고려한 전통 가옥의 형태를 띄고 있습니다. 하지만, 현재 시멘트와 콩크리트 등이 덮힌 무익한 형태로 방치되어 있었습니다. 이에 김기대작가와 막시밀리아노 아로세는 협업을 통해 친환경적 재료를 사용하여, 가옥의 문화적, 환경적으로 가진 의미를 재조명하려 합니다. 재생된 폐가는 특정기간 체험형 전시공간이자, 레지던시 형태로 운영됩니다. 그리고 그 공간에 독일 드레스던에서 미술치료학을 전공한 전선영 작가의 작품 또한 함께 설치됩니다.

Yin & Yang Handongri

Yin & Yang is a revitalization project based in a local community in Jeju. Artists Kidai Kim and Maximiliano Arrocet will creatively reimagine abandoned shelters as bright, energetic and eco-friendly places. The artists explore the originality of some of the abandoned houses in the Gujwa-eup district and try to rekindle what they used to mean to the local people. The result will be an artistic space that tells the story of people’s lives in the past and present. The communications are recorded and shared as another narrative to communicate many stories that occur during the decision processes.
