YEONY DO

2018년 부터 현재까지 슬리퍼스 써밋, 슬리퍼스 클럽 그리고 이스카이 아트의 General Manager로 회사의 모든 사업, 프로젝트 및 행사의 기획 및 총괄을 맡고 있다.

 디자인 관련 회사에서 근무 하기도 하였고, 수년간 한국과 영국에서 다양한 문화/예술 프로젝트, 온오프라인 사업을 운영하고 제작해 온 경험을 가지고 있으며, 2018년 다큐멘터리 영화 <슬리퍼스 인 베니스> 제작의 비지니스 운영 및 후반 작업비 3000만원 크라우드 펀딩을 담당하기도 했다. 현재도 지속적으로 <밸롱벨롱 나우> 페스티벌 및 영국과 한국의 다양한 프로젝트들을 위한 펀드레이징 및 기획과 운영을 담당하고 있다.

런던의 골드스미스 대학교(Goldsmiths University London)에서 Creative & Cultural Entrepreneurship – Design Pathway (문화 기업 경영 – 디자인 패쓰) 석사를 영화<슬리퍼스 인 베니스>의 제작 과정의 모든 부분의 사회적, 경제적, 문화적 자본을 측정하여 분석하고 아카이빙한 논문으로 우수한 성적으로 졸업하였다. 이전에 단국대 경제학과를 성적 우수상 수상 입학 및 졸업한 그녀는 모든 문화적인 프로젝트, 이벤트, 사업을 문화적으로 그리고 경제학적으로 해석하고 접근하려 노력한다.

슬리퍼스 써밋과 이스카이 아트는 그녀를 문화를 해석하고(“interpreter”)문화 기업을 경영하는(“entrepreneur”) 역할을 하는“C”entrepreneur라 이야기하기도 한다.

Yeony Do is Centrepreneur.‘ C’entrpeneur is a phrase coined by Sleepers Summit & ISKAI Art to refer to her role as an active entrepreneur linking industry with sustainable culture.

Yeony combines Iskai Art’s cultural expertise with business knowledge to turn creative ideas into products and businesses. Yeony graduated from University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management. Since then, she has gained experience creating cultural projects, events and e-commerce businesses including founding online brands and crowdfunding project for an independent film ‘Sleepers in Venice’. Through this, she is able to critically assess businesses and quickly gain an understanding of their needs including, planning, sales and marketing. 

Yeony specialises in analysing art and cultural projects from cultural and economic perspectives. she went on to complete Master’s degree at Goldsmiths University London with a distinction. Her dissertation titled ‘Why cultural and art entrepreneurship is valuable for creative enterprise: A case study of the Sleepers in Venice project’ focused on the cultural and economic perspective of entrepreneurship and concluded that the success of the project was dependent on the creativity of the people involved.

She is currently operating Sleepers Summit / Sleepers Club & ISKAI ART as the General Manager.

STEPHANIE SEUNGMIN KIM

서울과 런던을 오가며 활동하는 독립큐레이터 김승민은 이스카이아트와 슬리퍼스써밋 대표이다. 다국의 정부와 협력, 공공전시를 목적으로 하는 대형 전시들을 지금까지 80건, 전세계 19도시에서 기획해왔다.

제1회 직지 코리아 국제 페스티벌 수석큐레이터로 주제 전시를 총괄하였고, 2015년 베니스 비엔날레 병행 전시<베니스, 이상과 현실사이> 총괄, 2017년 UNCCD COP13 중국 어월더스 유엔 사막화방지협회전, 2016년에 KBEE 2016 중국 선양 전시, UNESCO 본부(프랑스 파리), 한국 뉴미디어전시 Heritage, Legacy & Light, 2017년 서울도시건축비엔날레 공유도시<프로젝트 서울 어페럴>,2010년과 2012년에 리버풀비엔날레 한국관, 2013년에 대통령 영국 국빈 방문 기념 유럽 최대  한국 박람회 Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo 2013 일환 한영 뉴미디어아트 전, 한국전쟁 종전 60 주년, 한영수교130 주년 계기<어느 노병의 이야기> 전시 기획 총괄 등 대형 공공 전시들의 기획을 하고있다. 또한, 2007년부터 2011년까지는 주영한국문화원 창립 큐레이터로 근무하였으며, 2년간 “객석”의 <나 보다 예술> 연재를 하였고, 현재까지도 다양한 잡지에 글을 쓰고 있다.

또한, 2018년에는 <슬리퍼스 인 베니스> 다큐멘터리 영화 및 동명의 오리지널 사운드 트랙 앨범을 제작하였다. 현재 영국왕립예술학교에서 동시대미술 큐레이팅 철학박사과정 중이며, <벨롱 벨롱  나우 페스티벌>의 총괄프로듀서이다.

Stephanie Kim runs Iskai Contemporary Art, a curatorial research centre, and Sleepers summit incorporation, and works with the public sector since 2006. She was the founding Curator of the Korean Cultural Centre UK,  Embassy of the Republic of Korea from 2007 to 2011.

 

She founded Iskai Art and directed shows including Liverpool Biennial City States Terra Galaxia (Liverpool 2010 & 2012), A Soldier’s Tale (London Asia House 2013), Sleepers in Venice (Parallel event for Venice Biennale 2015), Heritage exhibition at Unesco (Paris 2014), Singapore Open Media Festival (Singapore2015), Jikji Korea International Festival (Cheongju 2016), United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) COP 13 exhibition (Ordos 2017), Seoul Biennale of Architecture & Urbanism (Seoul, 2017).

 

She also produced Sleepers in Venice documentary film in 2018. The film converges art and music by collaborating with Fluxus Music to produce an ost album under the same title. She is currently reading Ph.D. in Royal College of Art(RCA), and received a Master’s degree from University College of London(UCL) and Honours BA from Sotheby’s Institute.
